Did you know?

According to recent research conducted by School-Based Mental Health and Violence Prevention bodies, due to the circumstances surrounding COVID-19 only 4.8% of school aged children met the required activity movement guidelines resulting in negative outcomes in physical, mental health and social well-being. The Ontario Schools Cricket Association (OSCA) has worked with school boards across to deliver hundreds of introductory cricket sessions in schools across Ontario to increase participation in sport.

These programs have eliminated the barriers of access and have ensured equitable access to students from all backgrounds. OSCA has demonstrated leadership in creating a new awareness of Canada's fastest growing sport and bringing it to local schools through physical education classes and after-school recreation cricket programs. Through the Community Sport for All Initiative we have been able to provide dedicated instructors, equipment and resources to support staff and students.

OSCA has received a strong support and letters of recognition by many school boards, some of which include:
- Peel District School Board
- Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board
- Hamilton Catholic District School Board
- Hamilton Wentworth District School Board
- Durham District School Board, Durham Catholic District School Board
- Halton District School Board
- Toronto District School Board
- Toronto Catholic District School Board

How to support OSCA programs and events:

OSCA continues to explore opportunities to extend its programming into other regions and amongst other target audiences through funding and sponsorships. The social benefits and community investments are extensive and continue to unfold. We are calling on corporate sponsors and funders to help us address these community needs.

Our corporate sponsors are provided with social and mainstream media coverage and promoted through our news channels. Your contribution will help increase healthy active lifestyles among school children. OSCA's continued media coverage at local and provincial events generates great branding and promotional value for our sponsors and community partners. We invite you to visit our media page and contact us for further details.
